Friends, in today’s modern era, anything, be it banking or social media, depends on a secure login. Passwords have long been a common practice, but managing them can be difficult and risky. To address these challenges, a modern and more secure solution called Passkeys is becoming increasingly popular. Let us know the difference between these two-

What are Passkeys?

Passkeys is a new way to login that doesn’t require you to remember or type a password.

Instead, they use your device’s inbuilt security features, like:

fingerprint scanning

Facial recognition

device PIN

This means your identity is verified quickly and securely—without the hassle of passwords.

How do Passkeys work?

Passkeys are based on a system called public-key cryptography.

It works like this:

Two keys are created: One public key and one private key

Public key is stored on the server

Private key remains safe on your device

When you login, your device uses the private key to verify your identity—without sharing any sensitive data. This makes it extremely difficult to access without permission.

Why are Passkeys more secure?

No need to remember or reuse any passwords

Cannot be easily stolen or leaked

Strong protection against phishing attacks

Unique cryptographic verification for every login

Since you never type the password, fake websites can’t trick you into obtaining your login information.
