In a recent interaction, filmmaker Goldie Behl who is also the husband of Sonali Bendre , opened up about his son Ranveer Behl ’s aspirations, revealing that the youngster is keen to carve his own path in cinema. Unlike many star kids, Ranveer isn’t interested in acting and instead wants to explore storytelling behind the camera, focusing on films, digital content, and creative formats in the future.
Confirming his son’s plans, Goldie shared with Variety India, “He wants to be a filmmaker. As of now, he is studying film and wants to make movies and other content. He’s a very good editor and is quite keen on editing. And while I don’t know what exactly he wants to do, it’s okay as long as he’s happy doing what he is doing.”

Goldie, known for films like ‘Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai’ and ‘Drona’, believes there is no rush for his son to step into the industry. Emphasising patience and growth, he said, “He is still very young, just 20. Let him finish his education, then let him understand his audience and make a movie or a series or whatever he wants to make, for them.”
Interestingly, Goldie hinted that Ranveer might not restrict himself to traditional filmmaking. Sharing his thoughts, he said, “He might just make a video game or something in live-action or anime or augmented reality.” This reflects a broader, more experimental outlook toward content creation in today’s evolving entertainment space.
For Goldie, the most important lesson he wants his son to carry forward is simple yet powerful. He concluded, “The biggest lesson I've learned in my life is that you need to have fun doing what you're doing. I understand, money can compensate for a lot of fun. But most of the time, if you're not having fun, you're not going to make money.”
