On April 29, numerous SpiceJet flights departing from Mumbai faced significant cancellations and delays, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded and uncertain about their next steps. According to the airline, three flights from Mumbai to Delhi, Gorakhpur, and Bengaluru were canceled due to operational issues. The airline cited a grounded aircraft and adverse weather conditions at the previous station, Bagdogra, as contributing factors. A spokesperson for SpiceJet confirmed that flights SG 631 (Mumbai-Delhi), SG 553 (Mumbai-Gorakhpur), and SG 669 (Mumbai-Bengaluru) were canceled on April 29 due to these operational challenges, which also affected crew duty time limits due to the weather conditions.
Additional Delays for Ahmedabad Flights
The airline further reported that two flights from Mumbai to Ahmedabad were delayed because of poor weather at their previous stations. The spokesperson mentioned that these flights, originating from Varanasi and Bagdogra, were also affected by the weather, resulting in late departures. To accommodate the passengers impacted by the cancellations, SpiceJet announced that they would operate additional flights on Thursday, April 30. The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to travelers and appreciated their understanding.
