According to sources, the weight of the idol wrapped in thick gold leaf is around 3.1 tonnes. It is made of bronze. The statue was created by Alan Cottrell, a sculptor from Ohio. About 3 lakh 60 thousand US dollars have been spent. However, it is not clear how long it took to build the statue. The image of the idol has caused a stir as it has spread on social media.
