In Match 42 of IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. RCB have had a brilliant season so far as they've won six out of their eight matches and have been in and around the top of the table at all times. Gujarat Titans have struggled to be consistent, with four wins and four losses to their name, and this encounter holds significance for the Titans in terms of making it to the playoffs, while RCB would look to further assert their dominance at the top of the table.
RCB's success so far this season has been due to their extremely powerful batting order that has been in excellent form throughout conditions. We saw their ability to successfully chase down a good target and their tally of sixes only speak about the intent they've had so far. Moreover, their pace duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood are breathing fire with the ball and they are equally assisted by Rasikh Dar, Suyash Sharma and Krunal Pandya.
Gujarat Titans haven't been the best with the bat and at times have just managed to perform under pressure, with moments being all that have taken them through. While Gujarat Titans' bowlers led by Rabada have been good with the new ball, they will need to put up a comprehensive show against RCB. This contest may well hinge on the ability of Gujarat Titans bowlers to restrict RCB's top order.
This ground will prove to be a batting paradise and the red soil surface being used for the game will be excellent for the batters. Both these teams have performed well at this ground and 190-200 will be a par score on this day. This track may produce good pace and bounce for the bowlers but the presence of depth in RCB's batting order gives them a slight advantage, as they might just need to win those crucial middle overs if they do so, they will have Gujarat Titans struggling.
At the toss, Gujarat have won and chose to bowl first. Both the side remains unchanged for this clash in Ahmedabad.
