The Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru could manage only 155 runs against Gujarat Titans today at the Narendra Modi Stadium. RCB ran out of wickets and crumbled in the final over with Josh Hazlewood was dismissed as the final man for the Royals.

 

In case RCB can defend 155 runs, it will be their seventh lowest score to defend in the IPL and their lowest to ever defend in Ahmedabad. 

 

RCB had successfully defended 106 runs against Chennai Super Kings in their home ground, Bengaluru, in 2013. Actually, Bengaluru witnessed five such occasions of glory where RCB defended some low scores, ranking in the top 10.

 

The nearest to today's score was 156, something they defended against the Deccan Chargers in Bengaluru in the inaugural season.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru collapse restricts total to 155

 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted 155 all out in 19.2 overs, struggling to build sustained momentum despite a brisk start. Virat Kohli set the early tone with 28 off 13 (SR 215.38), while Devdutt Padikkal led the innings with a top score of 40 off 24. However, frequent wickets derailed the innings, with RCB slipping from 79/2 to 96/6 within three overs.

 

Middle-order contributions from Rajat Patidar (19) and Romario Shepherd (17) failed to stabilize the innings, while only Bhuvneshwar Kumar (15*) provided late resistance. RCB maintained a run rate of 8.01 but lost wickets at regular intervals, including two collapses at 80/4 and 126/8.

 

For Gujarat Titans, Arshad Khan starred with 3/22, while Rashid Khan (2/19) and Jason Holder (2/29) ensured tight control.
