ATF and petrol-diesel prices

If you also travel by plane and are worried about rising fares, then there is a relief news for you. Friends, even if they use petrol and diesel vehicles, they can be happy because the government has not made any change in the rates of aviation turbine fuel on May 1, 2026. That means there has been no increase in the price of ATF this month. Also, the prices of petrol and diesel have not increased for retail customers. Increase in the price of ATF increases the burden on companies, which are expected to increase in flight tickets. But this time the prices of ATF have not increased. Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices for domestic airlines remained unchanged on Friday as state-owned oil companies decided to absorb the rise in global fuel prices to protect airlines and consumers, Indian Oil said.

The prices of petrol, diesel and domestic LPG cylinders have also been kept the same, so that people are less affected by the fluctuations in the international market. IOC said that there has been no change in the rates of main fuels which affect the common people. On the 1st of every month, ATF (aviation fuel) prices are updated according to the input cost. This time the rates have been kept the same for domestic airlines, but the prices for international airlines have been increased.

Petrol and diesel prices did not increase

According to IOC, the prices of petrol and diesel did not change for those who consume about 90% of the total consumption. This means that oil prices have not increased for the retail user and the common man. Similarly, the price of domestic LPG (14.2 kg cylinder) for about 33 crore people has also not been changed. The rates of kerosene available under PDS (Government Ration System) are also the same.

The statement said that overall there was no change in the prices of about 80% of the petroleum products, which has brought relief to most of the people. IOC said that the changes are limited only to certain industrial sectors, whose consumption is low and whose prices keep changing every month according to the international market.

Prices of most products did not increase

Without giving much details, the company said that the prices of bulk and commercial LPG cylinders (which are less than 1% of the total consumption) have been changed. Apart from this, the rates of bulk diesel and ATF have been increased for international airlines. At the same time, the prices of products have also decreased by about 4%, which shows the fluctuations of the global market.

Overall, rates of 80% products remained the same, rates of 4% decreased and rates of 16% products (mostly industrial fuels) increased. IOC said that these steps show that companies are adopting a balanced approach, which includes providing relief to domestic customers while also keeping pace with international trends.
