On April 30, Shah Rukh Khan took to his X platform to share a poster of his upcoming production with Netflix, Kartavya. Showcasing Saif Ali Khan with a bruised face standing in front of a fire, Kartavya is a miniseries that follows a cop’s life.

Shah Rukh shared the poster with the caption, “Kartavya ke iss chakravyuh mein, har faisla ek imtihaan hoga. Watch Kartavya, out 15 May, only on Netflix.”

The gritty series navigates a complex storyline of a police officer struggling between duty and ethics. From the caption and synopsis, Kartavya seems to be about a police officer who is pushed to his limits while carrying out his duty in a world where moral boundaries are ambiguous.

According to Red Chillies CEO Venky Mysore, “Kartavya showcases a narrative that poses challenging questions about duty and morality, defined by intricate storytelling and engaging performances.”

Helmed by Pulkit, the series features a talented ensemble cast and an intriguing storyline that thrives on OTT platforms. Saif Ali Khan leads a formidable cast that includes talents like Rasika Dugal, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Manish Chaudhari, and Saurabh Dwivedi, who is making his acting debut in this series.

It's been a while since fans saw Saif in a complex and nuanced character. It is one of the reasons why the excitement piqued when its release announcement came in. He was last seen playing a similar role in Netflix’s Sacred Games, that went on to become one of the top-rated OTT shows of all time.

The series marks a rare collaboration between Saif Ali Khan and Shah Rukhi Khan, heightening the anticipation around it.

Before Kartavya, Saif Ali Khan was last seen in Netflix’s Jewel Thief. He is also working on Priyadarshan’s Haiwaan, which is currently in post-production stage,
