Reliance Retail, a major player in the Indian retail sector, has made a significant move to strengthen its presence in the beauty and personal care market by acquiring the hair care brand 'Anomaly', founded by Bollywood and global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas. This announcement, made on Thursday, means that Reliance Retail will now fully own the trademarks and digital assets of this global brand. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.

The company stated that it has acquired the trademarks and digital assets of 'Anomaly' and plans to expand it through its omnichannel retail network and the online beauty platform 'Tira'.

In a statement, Reliance Retail mentioned, "This acquisition is a significant expansion of our rapidly growing beauty business and reinforces our commitment to building fast-growing consumer brands in India and globally." Established in 2021 by Priyanka Chopra, 'Anomaly' is known for its high-quality hair care products. The company added that with this acquisition, the brand's intellectual property and digital framework are now entirely under Reliance Retail, enabling swift expansion through its extensive retail network.

Isha Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, remarked, "Incorporating Anomaly into our portfolio is a strategic move to expand our rapidly growing group of beauty brands." She expressed optimism about collaborating with Priyanka Chopra to leverage the brand's potential in India through their omnichannel capabilities and deep consumer insights, while also continuing its international growth.

Priyanka Chopra stated that she will continue to play a vital role as the creative director in the brand's development, focusing on innovation, brand vision, and product development. She expressed her excitement about working closely with Isha Ambani, saying, "As a creative director, I will be actively involved in the brand's growth."
