Cannon Hall Farm has issued a devastating announcement about a sad loss on the estate, with one of its ponies rushed to the emergency vet. The farm, which was made famous on the Channel 5 shows Springtime on the Farm and Winter on the Farm, saw one of its staff take to Instagram to explain to devastated fans exactly what was going on.
Farmer Philip was videoed next to beloved Shetland pony Casey, and explained: "Just so everybody's aware, in the last couple of days unfortunately Casey has lost her foal. With ongoing complications, she aborted. She had perked up a wee bit yesterday, but unfortunately this morning we put her out on some grass to try and get her to eat some grass, but she hasn't passed anything through her stomach in the last couple of days, and she's starting to go downhill.
"So Marco's been out this morning and unfortunately we have to send Casey to Rainbows now."
The farm elaborated in the caption: "With heavy hearts, we need to share some very difficult news. Our Shetland pony Casey is being rushed to Rainbow Equine Hospital right now.
"After suffering complications following the loss of her foal, she is critically ill and fighting hard. We will update you as soon as we can. Please keep her in your thoughts."
Fans rushed to send their well wishes to Casey, with one writing: "Aww, poor Casey. You can hear the emotion in Philip's voice. Praying for the sweet girl."
Another echoed: "Poor Casey, hope she recovers. You can hear the emotion in Philip. We love her!"
"Poor Casey, I do feel for you all. Such a hard time for you," somebody else told Philip.
While a fourth social media user posted: "Poor Casey hopefully they can pull her through!"
