M40 drivers are facing traffic chaos this evening following a serious crash. The southbound stretch of the motorway in Oxfordshire is closed between junction 8a to junction 6 Watlington following a collision between a motorcyclist and car.
Emergency services, including Thames Valley Police, have rushed to the scene. Drivers have been warned they face delays of more than 40 minutes on approach. Motorway camera footage shows traffic at a standstill, with vehicles almost bumper-to-bumper. National Highways wrote on X: "The #M40 in #Oxfordshire southbound is currently closed between J8a #Oxford to J6 #Watlington following a collision. There are currently delays in excess of 40 minutes on the approach. @ThamesVP are in attendance.
