There was a stir in Gram Panchayat Lakes of the local police station area on Friday evening when high voltage current suddenly appeared in many houses. In this horrific accident, an elderly couple died on the spot, while another woman sustained serious burn injuries and is undergoing treatment. The deceased have been identified as Shriram (65 years), son of Kapoor Vishwakarma and his wife Phoolmati (63 years), resident of Lakes. According to the information, both were present in their house. Meanwhile, suddenly the electrical board of the house and the wires passing over the door caught fire.
According to eyewitnesses, seeing the situation of fire and electric current, Phoolmati went to open the door, but got hit by the electric current that entered the door. Shriram ran to save his wife, but he also got electrocuted. Both of them died on the spot. Meanwhile, Indra Devi (60 years) wife Krishna Madhav also got burnt due to electric shock in this accident. The family immediately took him to the hospital, where his treatment is ongoing.

After the incident, there was chaos in the entire village. Due to the promptness of the villagers, the 11 thousand volt main line was immediately closed, due to which a major accident was averted and the lives of other people could be saved. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took possession of the dead bodies and started further legal action.

After this tragic accident, serious questions are being raised on the functioning of sub station Nadhira. After all, how did such a big negligence happen? JE’s reply not received: SDO Mayurpur unable to pick up the call. When an attempt was made to contact the concerned JE and SDO Mayurpur in connection with the incident, their mobiles were found switched off. Whereas SDO Mayurpur does not consider it appropriate to pick up the call due to which his side could not be met.
