Royal fans spot Princess Charlotte's uncanny likeness to 2 family members as she turns 11

Princess Charlotte has been stealing our hearts with her appearances at royal events since she was a baby.

The daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales is celebrating her 11th birthday today (2nd May), and fans of the Royal Family can often spot the couple's only daughter and middle child at events with her parents and her siblings, 12-year-old Prince George and eight-year-old Prince Louis.

While Charlotte may be one of the youngest members of the Royal Family, her style has begun to evolve as she follows in her mother's fashionable footsteps. At recent public appearances like Easter, royal watchers have been able to see just how much the little girl looks like her mum, Princess Kate, as well as her dad, Prince William.

But there are two other members of the royal family that young Charlotte bears a striking resemblance to. And interestingly, while both these royals are related to Charlotte by blood, they're not related to each other - making the uncanny similarities between the two even more intriguing.

A post shared on Facebook by a royal enthusiast highlighted that Charlotte not only looks just like her late grandmother, Princess Diana, but also appears to resemble her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Photos of the two women in their childhood were placed next to an image of Charlotte, and the similarities are striking - with commenters saying they couldn't decide which member of the Royal Family she looked most like.

Commenters on the post were divided between saying Charlotte "looks like the Queen" and "resembles Diana", suggesting she's similar to both her late family members. Others, however, insisted she is "a beautiful young girl in her own right".

One person remarked: "Charlotte looks like Charlotte. She is very pretty and has inherited the beauty genes of her mother, Diana, and the Queen, but she will be beautiful because of that as she grows into a beautiful woman. God bless you, Princess Charlotte."

And it's not just fans on Facebook who think Charlotte is becoming a mini version of her grandmother, as she's recently started to dress like her, too. During her appearance at the Easter Matins service in early April, Charlotte was seen wearing an outfit that made her look like the spitting image of the late Princess Diana.

A Good Housekeeping article described Charlotte's outfit as a camel-coloured A-line coat dress with chocolate suede detailing, which was designed by Catherine Walker. The outfit echoed a similar camel-coloured coat dress Diana had worn in the 80s, which was designed by Arabella Pollen.

Tragically, Princess Charlotte never had the chance to meet her grandmother, as Princess Diana passed away in 1997 when her son - and Charlotte's father - Prince William was just 15 years old.

However, she did share a close bond with her great-grandmother, the late Queen, who died in 2022 when Charlotte was seven. In fact, the Queen once made a heartfelt move that would forever alter their family, after she implemented a significant change to a Royal law that revolutionised the line of succession.

Before the arrival of William and Kate's first child, the Queen enacted the Succession to the Crown Act, which reformed outdated Royal laws, ensuring their offspring would have an equal claim to the throne, irrespective of gender.

While Prince George's position as third, and now second, in line to the throne remained unaffected as a male heir, the Queen's decree ensured their daughter maintained her rank and wasn't displaced by the birth of their third child, Prince Louis.

We hope Princess Charlotte has a wonderful 11th birthday!
