This incident happened in the match played on Friday night, when Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who was performing brilliantly for Rajasthan Royals, was out early in the match. He started the innings with confidence and hit a four on the very first ball of Jamieson. But on the very next ball, Jamieson bowled him on a full length delivery.
The manner in which Jamieson celebrated after taking the wicket became a topic of discussion. He approached the young batsman and reacted aggressively, which was considered against the rules. Although Suryavanshi did not say anything and returned to the pavilion remaining calm, this incident went viral on social media.
BCCI took action against Jameson
Taking the matter seriously, the BCCI found Jamieson guilty of Level-1 violation of the IPL Code of Conduct. The board issued him a warning giving him one demerit point. According to the board, this matter falls under the rule of the code of conduct, which includes using abusive language, gesture or behavior against a player which can provoke another player.
Meanwhile, if we talk about the match, Delhi Capitals performed brilliantly and defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets. Batting first, Rajasthan made a big score of 225 runs, in which Riyan Parag played an inning of 90 runs. However, even such a big score could not help the team. For Delhi, KL Rahul led the team by playing a brilliant inning of 75 runs while Pathum Nissanka gave a strong start by scoring 62 runs. The partnership between the two completely changed the course of the match and Delhi won easily by scoring 226 runs.
Overall, while on one hand Delhi’s victory was in discussion in this match, on the other hand, Jamieson’s aggressive celebration also became a major cause of controversy.
