Raja Shivaji vs Ek Din Box Office Day 1:There was an interesting clash between two big films at the box office on May 1. On one hand, Riteish Deshmukh starrer Raja Shivaji made a great start, while on the other hand, Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi’s ‘Ek Din’ could not impress the audience much.

Ritesh’s film ‘Raja Shivaji’ is based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This is considered to be the most expensive film of Marathi cinema, which made strong earnings on the very first day of its release. According to reports from Sacknilk, which records box office reports, the film collected around Rs 11.35 crore on the opening day.

The film was released in both Hindi and Marathi languages, with the Marathi version contributing around Rs 8 crore and the Hindi version contributing around Rs 3.35 crore. Overall, the gross collection of the film reached more than Rs 13 crore on the first day.

The film has received good reviews from the audience and critics, and Salman Khan’s cameo has also increased the excitement among the audience.

Slow start of ‘Ek Din’
On the other hand, Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan’s film ‘Ek Din’ could not perform well at the box office. The film earned approximately Rs 1.15 crore on the first day, which is considered much less than expected.

This film is Sai Pallavi’s Bollywood debut film, but it has received mixed and mostly negative response from the audience. Many users on social media have also described the film as weak.

While ‘Raja Shivaji’ took the lead on the basis of large screen size and strong content, ‘Ek Din’ suffered the brunt of its same-day release. Despite the support of Aamir Khan’s production house, the film failed to draw the audience to the theatre.

Now it will be interesting to see how both the films perform in the coming days and whether ‘Ek Din’ is able to show any significant rise on the weekend or not.
