Labour is facing a massive wipeout in London during next week's local elections, with Nigel Farage and Zack Polanski's parties expected to trigger a political earthquake. The widespread unpopularity of Sir Keir Starmer and his Government is hitting the party hard on the doorstep in the capital.
And it could spell disaster for London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan. Repeated Labour U-turns and the ongoing scandal over Lord Mandelson's failed security vetting are pushing voters away. Things are looking so bleak in the big smoke that the party has been told to prepare for "existential" results on May 7.
Heavy local election defeats in London will make life extremely difficult for Sir Sadiq and quash any hopes he has of serving an unprecedented fourth term as Mayor.
Figures suggest Labour could lose flagship authorities, including Hackney and Lambeth, to the Greens, who would become the biggest party in London.
Mr Polanski's party could also conceivably snatch Lewisham, Waltham Forest and Greenwich, as well as Wandsworth, Hammersmith and Fulham, Hounslow, and Brent.
Reform UK is also predicted to win big across the capital. According to data firm Bombe, Labour could lose more than half its council seats, including in strongholds such as Camden, the location of Sir Keir's own Holborn and St Pancras seat.
In total, the Prime Minister's party could lose 741 seats across London.
The Greens would gain 530, the Tories 77 and the Liberal Democrats 72, as Labour continues to face pressure from all political fronts, as well as from pro-Gaza independents.
Across London, nine other boroughs would go to no overall control, with the Greens the largest party in four, Labour in two and one each for Reform and the Tories.
The Lib Dems and Labour would have the same number of seats in Southwark, while the Tories and Greens would in Westminster.
