New Delhi. Under the Master Plan-2041 of Delhi Development Authority (DDA), 48 villages of Delhi may soon get urban status. According to the information received, government action regarding this process has started and work is being done continuously by various departments. While giving information on this subject, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Delhi Municipal Corporation, Satya Sharma said that “they have given advance approval to this proposal.” Now this proposal will be brought to the Delhi Municipal Corporation House, where after getting the final approval, these villages will be developed as urban areas.
Satya Sharma also said that the objective of this initiative is to increase the pace of urbanization of Delhi and develop the infrastructure of these villages as per urban standards. After getting urban status, better civic amenities, transportation and residential facilities will be expanded in these villages, so that the people living there can get a high quality lifestyle.
“Before approving this proposal, DDA had initiated the process of obtaining approval from all concerned departments and agencies, as all departments have a role to play in this urbanization process,” Satya Sharma said. He also said that permission from all concerned departments is necessary so that this process can be completed effectively and smoothly. Under this urbanization process, 48 villages of Delhi will get the status of urban areas, after which the infrastructure of these villages will be developed as per urban standards. This will expand civic amenities, transportation and residential facilities in the villages, and this step will play an important role in the urbanization of Delhi.
The proposal will be brought in the House
Chairman of the Standing Committee of Delhi Municipal Corporation, Satya Sharma informed on Friday that under the Corporation Act, advance approval has been given to give urban status to 48 villages of Delhi. Now this proposal will be brought to the Corporation House, where it is yet to get final approval. Satya Sharma said that after these 48 villages get urban status, additional steps can be taken to increase the availability of basic facilities there. These include facilities like road construction, sewer network, drinking water supply, street lights and waste management, which are essential for urban development. This step is being considered an important initiative towards urbanization under the Master Plan-2041 of Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
Survey of properties is going on
Satya Sharma also said that survey of properties is going on in these 48 villages as well as other unauthorized colonies under the orders of Delhi Government. This survey is an important part of this urbanization process, so that the condition of land and properties can be properly assessed and they can be improved in future according to urban development plans. After getting urban status, the provision of roads, sewers, drinking water supply, street lights, waste management and other basic facilities will be better in these villages, which will improve the quality of urban life.
These villages are present in many districts
The step of giving urban status to 48 villages of Delhi is in line with DDA’s Master Plan-2041. “This decision will be helpful in streamlining the rapid urbanization in Delhi and is an important step towards urban development,” he said. These 48 villages have been selected from different districts of Delhi, including outer northern, northern, north-eastern, north-western, southern, south-western and south-eastern regions. After getting urban status in these villages, various development schemes will be implemented in the coming time, which will improve the infrastructure and civic amenities of these areas.
