Ahmedabad, 3 May. Police in Kutch district of Gujarat have arrested a 32-year-old man, who is accused of spreading the ideology of ISIS through social media. The accused has been identified as Fakirmamad Isa Gagda. According to the police, he used to run multiple accounts under different names on platforms like Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. Through these accounts, he used to share videos, photographs and written material, which was inspired by fundamentalist ideology.

The arrest was made by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of West Kutch Police based on intelligence information. Police have seized his mobile phone, in which objectionable posts and old screenshots have been found.
Police officials said that under the ongoing “Operation Sindoor” since last year, surveillance on social media was increased, which made it possible to reach this accused.
