Ira Jadhav is considered to be one of the top-most talking points about women cricket in India these days. With her aggressive style of batting this young batter has caught everyone's eye (the fans and the experts alike) by registering a huge individual score when very young.
In January 2025 Ira registered a historic individual score in the BCCI Women's U-19 One Day Trophy where she smashed a breathtaking 346 off just 157 balls which was studded with 42 fours and 16 sixes. Her inning was tagged as the "most destructive" by some commentators.
She broke the individual record of 224 runs set by Smriti Mandhana and individual scores of Jemimah Rodrigues (202) and Raghvi Bist (219) with her blistering innings of 346. Her record century was instrumental in Mumbai touching a score of 563 and the side registered a record 544 run win against Puducherry.
She looks up to Jemimah Rodrigues as her role model and tries to mimic her batting style; she desires to become an India player.

Trials WPL setback and expectations
"Struggles WPL hiccups and expectations for tomorrow's day"- Ira has certainly gone through a lot while emerging as one of the most talked-about young guns in women's cricket today and has proved her mettle with sheer talent and tenacity. It was a great disappointment for everyone as despite featuring in the WPL auction Ira was not picked by any team that too when the form she was in.
Although it is something that most young cricketers go through. Given that Ira is still young and is blessed with the gift of talent and plenty of time at her disposal.
Ira studies in the same school where legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar completed his education. The highly talented youngster is in the standby list of the India U-19 team and is likely to find a place in the squad for the World Cup soon.
Ira's story has all the elements of talent, determination, and patience while the WPL disappointment was indeed bitter her historic knock in the U-19 ODI trophy spoke for itself and given her audacious batting and hunger for big scores, Ira Jadhav is all set to be given a lot of chances. If she continues in the same rhythm she may soon make it to the senior Indian team.
