Harda Timarni police station death case begins from Saturday, when 60-year-old Ramdas Korku, resident of Pipalya Kala, was called for questioning by the police. This inquiry was being conducted in a case to cow slaughter, in which the police was already investigating.

According to the police, after interrogation, Ramdas consumed poison in the police station premises itself. When his condition worsened, he was immediately taken to the Community Health Center of Timarni, where after first aid he was referred to the district hospital. But he died during treatment.

‘The torture was happening for the last several days’

The family of the deceased has raised questions on the role of police in the Harda Timarni police station death case. Bhavani Baghela, daughter of the deceased, says that her father was being called to the police station continuously for the last 5-6 days and he was being harassed in the name of interrogation.

The family claims that what the police is saying is not the whole truth. The son of the deceased said that it was wrong to say that his father was released on Saturday afternoon, because he was present in the police station premises till evening. During this time he consumed poison.

Dharna, demonstration and increasing tension

The atmosphere became heated since Sunday morning regarding the Harda Timarni police station death case. Family members and social organizations sat on strike outside the district hospital. Local MLA RK Dogne also joined this protest, due to which the matter became more serious.

During the dharna, administration and police officials kept trying to convince the family members, but they remained adamant on their demands. In view of the situation, police force was also increased in the area, so that no untoward incident occurs.

Investigation continues, five teams formed

The police has also given its clarification in the Harda Timarni police station death case. Officials say that Ramdas was called for questioning in the cow slaughter case and he was interrogated as per normal procedure.

According to SDOP Shalini Paraste, the circumstances under which Ramdas consumed poison are being investigated. The police have also formed five teams to investigate this entire matter.
