New Delhi: The Israeli Air Force carried out a major attack on Hezbollah’s infrastructure on Monday (04 May 2026). Israel claims that the terrorists were working from this place. This action was taken in response to an anti-tank missile fired from southern Lebanon towards the Israeli army.
IAF gave information about the attack
The Israeli Air Force posted on Twitter that Hezbollah positions were targeted during the night. The post said an anti-tank missile was fired at Israeli forces deployed in southern Lebanon, but there were no casualties.
Immediately thereafter forces of the 91st Division attacked the launch position from where the missile was fired. IAF clarified that the attack was carried out on the same infrastructure of terrorist organization Hezbollah from where their fighters were active.
News of air strikes on many cities
According to media reports Israel attacked Debal, Qana, Sarifa and Qalaouiya as well as Zoutar al-Sharqiya, Toulin, Shehour and Brashit. At least two people have been killed in Israeli air strikes in the southern Lebanese city of Shehour. Despite a ceasefire on 16 April, attacks between Israel and Hezbollah continue in southern Lebanon. Israeli forces are deployed in this area.
70 military structures and 50 bases destroyed – IDF
Israeli Defense Forces IDF said that on Saturday also several targets belonging to Hezbollah were attacked in southern Lebanon. The army described these bases as ‘terrorist infrastructure’. According to the IDF, they were used to plan and support attacks.
“Over the past day, the IDF struck several terrorist targets and killed militants operating near IDF troops in southern Lebanon,” the army said.
The IDF also claimed that about 70 military structures and about 50 infrastructure targets belonging to Hezbollah were destroyed in several areas. These included command centres, weapons stores, military buildings and other bases. Israel says that they were being used for attacks against its forces.
Action will continue for the safety of citizens
It is noteworthy that in a statement the IDF said that it was working as per the instructions of the political leadership. The crackdown will continue against threats targeting Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Tension continues to persist in southern Lebanon. Even after the ceasefire, attacks from both sides are not stopping.
