New Delhi: Anand Mahindra has teased a Mahindra Thar Roxx-based All Terrain Vehicle on X, giving a first look at a heavily modified machine built for security forces. The vehicle appears to be based on the Mahindra Thar Roxx, but the version shown online is clearly more mission-focused than lifestyle SUV.
In his post, Anand Mahindra described it as the Mahindra ATV, or All-Terrain Vehicle, and said it has been built with “No excess. No ornamentation. Just focussed capability.” From the images shared, this looks like a rough-and-ready defence-focused Roxx with protection parts, recovery hardware and serious off-road intent.

The teased Mahindra ATV gets a long list of hardware meant for tough use. Anand Mahindra said every bar, mount and inch of clearance has a job to do.
The vehicle is said to feature airdrop readiness, mission-grade protection, a gun mount, full underbody protection, tandem tyre carrier setup, jerrycan holders, windshield protector and a front winch.
For off-road fans, that list is enough to grab attention. A winch, spare tyre setup, extra fuel holders and underbody protection are the kind of things people usually add after buying a 4×4. Here, the package seems to be built around defence requirements from the start.

Built for security forcesAnand Mahindra said the vehicle is “Purpose-built for our security forces, & proud to serve them.” He also called it a look at Mahindra’s core DNA, pointing to “resilience, adaptability, and the will to go anywhere.”
That statement fits Mahindra’s long history with rugged utility vehicles in India. From old-school Bolero and Scorpio-based duty vehicles to newer Thar and Roxx platforms, the brand has often leaned into tough-road credibility.
The ATV shown here is not a regular showroom-spec Roxx. It appears to be a special-use vehicle for defence or security operations, so buyers expecting a civilian launch may need to wait for official details.
