Tang shared the news on social media on April 29.

“This is such a big, unexpected piece of news. I’m so happy,” she wrote, according to The Korea Times. “It looks like our family will be welcoming another little pony. Everyone is very excited. Thank you sincerely for your interest.”

The announcement was accompanied by a photo showing what appear to be the hands of Tang, Kim, and their daughter holding a toy horse, an image widely interpreted as suggesting the baby will be born in the Year of the Horse, which began Feb. 17, 2026, according to The Straits Times.

Rumors of Tang’s pregnancy had circulated for weeks before the announcement. In March, she and Kim were seen shopping together in Beijing, where her loose clothing and protective gestures fueled speculation. More recently, images of the actress from a luxury fashion event in Shanghai appeared to show a visible baby bump.

Following the announcement, social media was flooded with reactions ranging from surprise to congratulations. Many users praised Tang, highlighting the remarkable nature of her pregnancy and offering wishes for a healthy delivery.

Tang and Kim, 57, married in July 2014 after collaborating on the 2010 film “Late Autumn” and welcomed their first child in 2016.

Tang first rose to international fame for her role in the Golden Lion-winning 2007 film “Lust, Caution,” directed by Ang Lee. Following the film, she faced a ban from the Chinese entertainment industry due to its explicit content before making her comeback in “Crossing Hennessy” in 2010. She later earned acclaim for performances in “Finding Mr. Right,” “The Golden Era,” “Long Day’s Journey into Night,” “Decision to Leave,” and “Wonderland.”

She is set to appear in “The Brigands of Rattlecreek,” an upcoming Western directed by Cannes-winning director Park Chan Wook.

Kim made his feature directorial debut with “Memento Mori” in 1999 and later directed the critically acclaimed “Family Ties.”
