Fox News briefly paused their coverage to follow Donald Trump's return to Washington after spending the weekend at his Jupiter golf club in Florida, but attention quickly shifted as viewers began speculating about the president's appearance. The clip, shared on Sunday, which showed Trump arriving back in the nation's capital, sparked a wave of reaction on social media, with some users questioning his appearance. Viewers reacted as Trump descended down the stairs of the aircraft, with some claiming the president looked to have "stumbled".
A number of people expressed concerns about the President's physical condition, claiming he looked as though he was struggling to make his way down the stairs of Air Force One.
Reacting to the clip, one viewer wrote: "Trump looking very weak and low energy." Another person added: "Looks tired and defeated. Must have been some bad golfing this weekend while the rest of us juggled gas and food prices." A third wrote: "No energy. Stumbling. Surpised he didn't fall down the stairs."
Another remarked: "So frail. So scared of stairs." A fifth urged: "Ugh this man is exhausted. Thank you for everything you do for us President." A sixth user penned, "He does not look well." Others also commented on his movement, with one person claiming he appeared to be "walking more gingerly than normal".
While there has been no official update or confirmation regarding any health concerns, rumours swirled this weekend regarding the 79-year-old's well-being after he was rushed from the golf course for a mystery "dentist appointment".
The White House confirmed that the US President had attended a "scheduled appointment at his local dentist," but no such event appears on his schedule. The last previously-scheduled dentist appointment appears on his publicly released schedule for January 10.
Trump, who will turn 80 next month, has been the subject of numerous health-related issues. Earlier this year, bruising around Trump's hands drew speculation that he was suffering from some malady.
There has been a constant stream of commentary concerning Trump's mental state since his return to the White House. Presidential health trackers are also pointing to Trump's swollen ankles - photographed again during his weekend trip to Florida.
On Saturday, Trump was photographed with his son, Donald Trump Jr. His swollen ankles visible in the photos are likely the result of chronic venous insufficiency, which he was diagnosed with last July.
In January, Trump told the Wall Street Journal that he'd tried using compression socks to help treat the issue but stopped because he "didn't like them."
Despite the continuous questions about his health, Trump has insisted he is perfectly healthy, both mentally and physically.
