At the Met Gala 2026, Isha Ambani’s look stood out not just for her outfit but for the details that came with it. While her saree already drew attention, it was her unique accessories a jasmine-inspired hair piece and a mango-shaped purse, that became the talking point online. Together, they added a strong artistic layer to her appearance and sparked widespread curiosity.

If you are as curious as we are regarding Isha Ambani’s accessories at the Met Gala 2026, then you have to keep reading for more details.

Isha Ambani Wore A Paper Gajra At Met Gala 2026

One of the most eye-catching elements of her look was the long trail of jasmine flowers styled into her hair. At first glance, it appeared to be a traditional mogra gajra, but it was actually a carefully crafted sculpture.

The piece was created by Brooklyn-based artist Sourabh Gupta, who worked on it for days with very little rest. The gajra was made using paper, copper, and brass, with each flower shaped and painted by hand. Around 600 flowers were used in the final piece, although over 1,000 were initially created to select the best ones.

The idea behind the design came from stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania, who wanted to combine the traditional gajra with artistic influences. The references included paintings by Raja Ravi Varma as well as personal memories from the artist’s childhood, where jasmine flowers were part of daily rituals.

Gupta explained that his work often tries to capture a fleeting moment, like the short life of a flower, and turn it into something lasting. That idea clearly reflected in this piece, which looked delicate yet structured.

Another detail that caught everyone’s attention was the mango-shaped accessory Isha carried. Many initially thought it was a real fruit, but it turned out to be a sculpture created by Subodh Gupta.

During an interaction at the event, Isha clarified that the mango was made of steel and not real. She also revealed that the piece was nearly 20 years old, adding a layer of history to her look. The sculpture, though simple in form, stood out because of how realistic it appeared.

Along with these standout pieces, her look also included a traditional sarpech placed at the back of her saree. This ornament, originally worn on royal turbans, featured emerald beads and diamonds set using kundan work, a technique where stones are placed in gold without prongs.

Even though not all details were visible from the front, they added depth to the overall styling, showing how different elements of Indian tradition were brought together.
