The Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants match ended with Rishabh Pant leading his team through a major setback after their main player Josh Inglis suffered an injury. The Australian star sustained his first season injury during his initial match of the year. 

The Lucknow Super Giants franchise knew about Josh Inglis absence from their first eight matches because he had already informed them about his situation. The 31-year-old took a short break for his wedding and joined the squad only a few days ago.

Josh Inglis who played short cover position tried to catch a low diving ball. The Australian international looked in pain as the physio quickly rushed onto the field.

The medical staff acted immediately and escorted Inglis off the ground. The physios needed to remove him from the game because it appeared he had cut his skin which resulted in bleeding and damage to his split webbing.

The match concluded with Mumbai Indians winning by six wickets at the point when this article reached its current state. The extent of Inglis' injury remains unknown because he did not return to the field after his first appearance.

Josh Inglis missed most of the tournament as previously stated. The Lucknow Super Giants selected him for their playing XI because they have experienced difficulties throughout the current season. The opening match for Inglis proved unsuccessful because he failed to create any effect on the game.

The right-handed batter started his innings with three fours but lost his wicket after scoring 13 runs from five balls. The team faces a difficult decision about Josh Inglis because they currently sit at 10th place in the table and must decide whether to keep him as their opening batsman or use him in a lower batting position.

The team must find new players to fill their starting lineup positions because the injury assessment will determine whether the player requires an extended recovery period. 

The Lucknow Super Giants have tested multiple players to fill their opening batting position. The team used their four international players as opening batsmen during their recent match against MI but their strategy failed to produce successful results. The team needs to find an Indian player who can replace Josh Inglis who has been ruled out of the season.

Ayush Badoni and Mukul Choudhary are two names who seem ahead of others in the pecking order. The upcoming LSG match against RCB will show how the team prepares to face their opponents at Ekana Stadium on May 7.
