symbol of political change

For the local residents, this incident has emerged as a symbol of not only religious but also political change. After the election results, this is being seen as the beginning of a new atmosphere in the area.

Election results and statistics

In the assembly elections, BJP made a big upset and ousted Trinamool Congress from power. The party achieved majority by winning 206 out of 293 seats, while TMC had to be content with only 80 seats. Mamata Banerjee’s 15 year rule has come to an end.
