Met Gala is one of the biggest events in the fashion world. Where celebrities from all over the world come on the red carpet to flaunt their fashion. This is called 'Costume Institute Benefit'. Which is organized every year for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. All the money from this event is given to charity. The event is hosted every year on the first Monday of May. Well, not only the fashion of Met Gala but also the food menu is different. It's like a theme is prepared for the costumes of the Met Gala. Similarly, its menu is also made on a special theme.
This time's dinner was inspired by the Northern Italian Garden, where every dish was linked to the season, nature and a sense of beauty. From appetizer to dessert, each course was presented like a separate chapter, so that guests could feel not just the taste but a different experience. Burrata Appetizer
The menu of the Met Gala keeps changing every year. This time many special dishes have been included in its menu. Which also has Burrata Appetizer. With which a salad of green tomatoes filled with elderflower, pine and gooseberry is served. The purpose of presenting this dish is to celebrate growth, seasonal freshness and freshness. In this, Burrata cheese has been colored green, making it look like a tomato. On top of this, elderflower syrup (or lightly sweet flavor), a little salt, olive oil and finely chopped green herbs (like basil, mint) are added to the bowl.
Morel Panna Cotta with Rack of Lamb
The main course was Morel Panna Cotta served with Rack of Lamb. Garnished with Parmesan gnocchi, asparagus, carrots, spring peas, and mint. This dish is heavy and rich in flavor. To make this, lamb is marinated with salt, black pepper and olive oil. Then it is roasted in the oven. Due to which it becomes soft and juicy. Whereas, to make Panna Cotta, it is prepared by mixing cream, gelatin and morel mushroom flavor.
Raspberry Chocolate Dessert
3 options for dessert have been added to the menu, the first of which is Raspberry Chocolate Dessert with Red Velvet Cake. This desert year is inspired by the Voss collection of Alexander McQueen dresses. In this, crème (creamy filling) is prepared by making raspberry puree and adding chocolate and cream to it. After this, cream is spread over the cake and chocolate glaze is poured on top. It is quite rich and flavourful.
Strawberry Peplova and Passion Fruit Curd
The second dessert is Strawberry Pavlova with Passionfruit Curd and Burgundy Amaranth Microgreens. Which is inspired by Robert Wun's 2023 'Bleeding Coat' design. This very light and fruity flavored dessert tastes very tasty. Meringue is made by beating egg whites with sugar and baking it in the oven to form a crisp base. It is served topped with whipped cream, then strawberry slices and passionfruit curd.
White Chocolate Mocha with Cocoa Cake
The third dessert is White Chocolate Mocha, which has cocoa cake and dark chocolate ganache. It is inspired by Christian Dior's 2024 'Bar Suit'. It is prepared by baking cocoa cake and mixing white chocolate and coffee (mocha flavour) with cream.
