Jio Prepaid Plan: A big update has come out in the telecom market. Reliance Jio has shocked crores of its users without any major announcement. Was the decision taken under pressure from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India?

According to media reports, the reason behind this decision could be the new guidelines of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. TRAI had considered some plans as not good in terms of transparency. In such a situation, there was pressure on the companies to discontinue or update such plans.

What was available in the ₹209 plan?

This plan was a favorite of budget users. In this, 1GB data was available daily with a validity of 22 days, i.e. a total of 22GB high-speed internet. There was also the facility of unlimited calling and 100 SMS daily. Apart from this, OTT benefits like JioTV and JioAICloud were also included. After the data was exhausted, the speed became 64 Kbps.

What will be the impact on users?

Due to the closure of this plan, the biggest impact has been on those people who wanted daily data at a low price. Now there is no affordable option like ₹209 left. Users will either have to spend more money or shift to a plan with less benefits.

At present, there is no official statement from the company whether this plan will be launched again or not. But experts believe that if demand from users increases, the company can bring a new version.
