Mark Allen suffered Crucible heartbreak - and he's already turned his focus to his next venture. Allen missed a simple black to book his place in his first World Snooker Championship final before falling 17-16 to Wu Yize in the semi-finals.
In one of the most dramatic last-four finishes in Crucible history, the 40-year-old had the match at his mercy and was required to just pot the black to wrap up a 17-15 win. But incredibly Allen rattled the pocket, leaving Wu with an unexpected chance to haul level at 16-16, which he took before winning the final frame. And taking to Instagram on Tuesday morning, he wrote: "Calling any professional golfers out there not playing in the PGA championships next week...Please get in touch asap for some work. Thanks."

While in a post on X, he wrote: "Can anyone help me out here? Thanks in advance."
The PGA Championship takes place in Pennsylvania at the Aronimink Golf Club from May 14-17, days after the announcement around LIV Golf having its funding withdrawn from Saudi Arabia come the end of the 2026 season.
Allen has made similar pleas to fellow sports stars in the past around charity events.
Meanwhile, reflecting on his final four heartbreak, Allen admitted: "You don't deserve to be in a world final if you are missing a ball like that, it's just pure pressure.
"I had two or three good chances to close out the match but didn't do it. Even though I'm devastated to lose that match, I think the right person is in the world final.
"I wished him good luck, said he played very well. I think he's going to be a world champion. All credit to Wu, if he doesn't win it this time, he is going to win world titles in future. It's a sore one for me."
Wu would go on to win the competition after holding his nerve to beat Shaun Murphy in a deciding-frame shoot-out.
The 22-year-old produced a match-winning break of 85 to win 18-17 to become the second youngest champion of the modern era and the second in succession from China after last year's triumph by Zhao Xintong.
Reacting to his win, Wu said: "I have been trying to go for this for ages. For the past few months, I have been living the same life. I am so happy that I could play well today."
