If you are also very fond of mangoes and want to try something special, then this time make pure Bengali sweet ‘Mango Sandesh’ at home. Its taste is so amazing that whoever eats it once will definitely ask for its recipe.
This is one of the most special sweets of Bengal which is famous all over the world for its purity and mildness. Sandesh is usually made from fresh chena, but when it gets a ‘twist’ of the king of fruits, mango. Mango Sandesh is very easy to make at home and its taste is very rich and fresh. Today we will tell you its simple and easy recipe.
Material
Full cream milk-1 liter
Lemon juice or vinegar – 2–3 tbsp (for curdling milk)
Mango pulp-1 cup fresh (well ripe mango)
Powdered sugar – 3–4 tbsp
Cardamom powder- 1/4 tsp
Pistachios or saffron for garnishing
Method
- Boil milk in a pan. When the milk boils, slow down the gas and slowly add lemon juice. The milk will curdle and the water will separate.
- Filter it in a muslin cloth and wash it with cold water to remove the sourness. Hang for 30 minutes so that excess water drains out.
- Take out the chenna in a plate and mash it well for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth. Now add mango pulp and powdered sugar to it.
- Cook this mixture in a non-stick pan on low flame while stirring for 5–7 minutes. Keep in mind that the mixture should become dry and thick, but not too hard. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
- Let the mixture cool slightly. Then make small balls or shape of your choice. Garnish with pistachios or saffron on top. Cool it in the fridge for 1-2 hours and serve, the taste will increase even more.
