His wife Sankgeetha filed for divorce, alleging extra marital affair with an "actress", believed to be Trisha Krishnan. Karuppu will be the first prominent film to release after the election results, and hence Suriya fans are requesting the to-be Chief Minister Vijay to allow early shows for the rural entertainer. Vijay's Jana Nayagan, meanwhile, is also expected to release soon, and a date might be confirmed in the coming days.
