A teen migrant dragged a young woman into a seafront toilet and raped her after offering to give her a ride home on his e-bike, a jury heard. Mohammed Abdullah is alleged have launched his horror sex attack after the woman became distressed as she was unable to call a taxi home from a night out because her phone had run out of battery. It is alleged that the then 18-year-old pretended to be a good Samaritan but instead assaulted his passenger after parking alongside a portable toilet close to the beach and forcing her inside.
The Syrian-born migrant denies rape and assault by penetration in the early hours of July 6, 2025, and claims the woman consented to having sex with him. Mark Eldridge, prosecuting, told Bournemouth Crown Court how the alleged victim had been out with a friend that night, first in Charminster then Bar So in the Dorset coastal town.
He told jurors that she had a "fair amount of drink" and was asked to leave the bar, which she did, before she and her friend headed off in different directions.
But the prosecutor said the woman, aged 20, then realised that her phone battery had run out, and unable to call a cab, she started walking along the seafront towards Boscombe Pier.
It was then that she then came across the defendant and a group of about five other men who she asked for help getting directions on their phones.
One of the men told her the defendant would give her a lift home on his e-bike and she took him up on the offer, Mr Eldridge said.
The defendant, now 19, then rode with her towards a set of portable toilets.
A couple walking along the seafront saw the defendant riding up with the complainant behind him with her arms wrapped around his waist. But they then saw the defendant carrying the woman in front of him with her legs around his waist, Mr Eldridge told the court.
He said that one of the witnesses called out to the defendant, asking, "What are you doing with her, I hope you are not going to do anything with her", but then walked out of sight.
Mr Eldridge said that Abdullah then sexually assaulted the complainant before forcing her inside one of the portable toilets where he locked the door before raping her.
Mr Eldridge said: "She was wriggling and trying to fight and then thought if she let it happen it would be quicker."
He added: "The defendant kissed her aggressively and she pulled away but somehow got a burst lip."
The jury was told that after the alleged attack the defendant rode off while the complainant "took her shoes off in order to run".
She then sought help from passers-by, asking to use their phones to call her mother, who she told she had been raped, before she called the police, the court heard.
Mr Eldridge said that one man who helped her described her as "appearing distressed".
The complainant later told police: "I remember being pinned by my back to the Portaloo, I remember my leg being lifted up, his hand then went up my skirt.
"I thought if I let if happen it would be quicker so I tried to fight a little but I just thought I will let him.
"I remember being dragged into the portable loo at this point, the door being shut and locked, I remember being forced over."
She added: "The next thing I knew he was gone. I exited the toilet, I took my shoes off so I could run. I saw him riding back to his friends."
Mr Eldridge said that the defendant, who lives in West Drayton, Middlesex, was arrested and told police in interview that the complainant had consented to both the sexual contact and to sex.
He arrived in the UK from Syria in 2023 and was given permanent leave to remain under a family reunion scheme.
He is being assisted in the trial by an Arabic interpreter and denies all charges.
The trial continues.
