Riddhima Kapoor Sahni gets emotional over daughter Samara's debut, recalls working with Neetu Kapoor, advice from Ranbir Kapoor

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni , daughter of late Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor , has opened up about making her acting debut in Daadi Ki Shaadi at 45, calling the experience “surreal” and “deeply emotional.”

“It truly feels surreal and deeply emotional. There’s a sense of everything coming full circle,” she told The Indian Express, adding, “I know my father is always with me, blessing me in anything and everything that I choose to do. That thought gives me a lot of strength and comfort.”

Speaking about stepping into films at this stage, Riddhima admitted it wasn’t easy.

“Honestly, the biggest challenge was stepping into an entirely new world at this stage of life. There’s a certain vulnerability in starting fresh, but also a lot of excitement at the same time,” she said.

‘Being on camera earlier helped me’Riddhima, who was earlier seen on a reality show, said that experience helped her transition into films.

“Being in front of the camera for a show made me comfortable. It gave me a sense of ease and familiarity, which definitely made this transition smoother,” she shared.

On working with Neetu Kapoor and advice from RanbirTalking about sharing screen space with her mother Neetu Kapoor, she said, “Working with mom was incredibly special. I discovered how effortless and instinctive she is as an actor.”

She also revealed the advice she received before facing the camera. “Stay natural and don’t overthink. Just feel the moment. That really helped me ease into my performance,” she said, referring to guidance from her brother Ranbir Kapoor .

Riddhima also spoke about being recommended for the project.

“I haven’t really asked why directly, but I think he saw a certain honesty or relatability in me. I’m just grateful he recommended my name,” she said.
