Jimmy Fallon has commented on his chaotic grid walk interaction with Martin Brundle before the start of the Miami Grand Prix. The Floridian F1 event proved to be a dramatic spectacle with numerous unforgettable moments littered throughout.

Whether it was Max Verstappen spinning out of control at turn two, Pierre Gasly's car turning on its side orsix different drivers being pulled into the FIA stewards' offices, it was difficult to know where to look. But before Kimi Antonelli sealed a record breaking victory,Fallon stole the show during the iconic grid walk with Brundle. A matter of days after he found himself yanking Brundle's Sky Sports branded microphone cover away with his mouth before shaking it side to side like a dog with a chew toy, Fallon addressed the amusing chaos on his show.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Tonight Show, the 51-year-old said: "They have a thing called the grid where they had you go out onto the track right before the race. You do like 20 interviews with reporters all over the world. Martin Brundle, by the way your microphone tastes delicious."

When Brundle approached Fallon from behind, the Saturday Night Live presenter turned around and beamed like a child receiving a Christmas present. With joy visibly splattered all over his face, despite the thick sunglasses he was wearing, Fallon immediately set about trying to make an impression with the ice-cool Brundle, by saying: "Oh my god, Martin Brundle, what do you need, can I get you anything?"

After Brundle replied "I need some funny lines, I need everything," Kimmel grabbed the cover with his mouth, prompting Brundle to sarcastically reply "You can keep that if you like".

The veteran grid walk reporter tried to bring Fallon back onto the GP by asking, "How many times have you...have you been here before" to which, Fallon replied: "It's my first time here, I'm loving it.

"Miami are great hosts and I'm going for Red Bull, I'm going for Max. He's going to crush it. I've been here hanging out, good restaurants, good people, good fun, it's loud, it's exciting, it's crazy. I'm so happy to see you, this is the highlight right here."

After Fallon appeared to try and take the microphone again, Brundle, while trying to frantically move away, was heard saying "Don't try and take my mic sock again, bye, bye, bye," before turning to Nico Hulkenberg, who was walking past.

At the end of the GP, Brundle addressed the amusing incident with Fallon on social media. Writing with a good humoured tone, he said: "In 30 years of broadcasting I've never wondered what a branded microphone sock tastes like. There's some very funny people around."
