Momentum is building around the possibility that Anthony Edwards could rejoin the Minnesota Timberwolves during Game 3 or 4 of their second-round matchup with the San Antonio Spurs, per Shams Charania of ESPN.
After suffering a bone bruise in his left knee in Game 4 of the previous series, Edwards is expected to be unavailable for the opening games of this round.
The injury dates back to April 25, and given the projected one-to-two-week recovery period, his timeline aligns with a potential comeback later in the series – specifically Game 3 on Friday or Game 4 on Sunday.
Edwards has already resumed light on-court activity, going through workouts over the weekend and traveling with the team as they head to San Antonio.
Still, the organization intends to be measured with his return, particularly since he has also been managing lingering inflammation in his right knee over the past several weeks.
