Fire crews are battling an agricultural building blaze after 'explosions' were heard across Sussex.
Four crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue are tackling the flames at the building in Ailies Lane, East Hoathly.
They were alerted to the fire at 11.54pm on Tuesday, May 5.
According to reports, locals could see and hear loud explosions and bright orange flashes from as far away as Eastbourne.
One resident posted online that they heard multiple 'loud bangs', with another adding that the sky was 'glowing red' from Polegate.
A woman who lives in Golden Cross added that her 'house shook' due to the blaze.
The fire service has warned members of the public to avoid the area while the inferno is brought under control.
Residents are also urged to close windows and doors due to smoke.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said in a statement: "At 11:54pm four crews were sent to an agricultural building fire in Ailies Lane, East Hoathly.
"Public urged to avoid the area and nearby residents asked to close windows and doors."
