Raja Shivaji vs. Ek Din Movie Box Office Collection Day 5: Directed by Riteish Deshmukh, 'Raja Shivaji' has achieved a new milestone at the box office. Deshmukh also plays the lead role in the film. Based on the story of King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, this Marathi film has completed five days since its release and has crossed the ₹52 crore mark at the worldwide box office.
Starring Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh, 'Raja Shivaji' was released in both Marathi and Hindi. The film continues to perform consistently well at the box office. Despite being just five days into its theatrical run, it is already outperforming the film starring Aamir Khan's son, Junaid Khan, and Sai Pallavi.
According to a report by Sacnilk, 'Raja Shivaji' witnessed a decline in earnings on its fifth day (Tuesday), netting approximately ₹3.35 crore from around 851 shows in the Marathi language. The gross collection for the day in Marathi stood at approximately ₹3.95 crore—a drop of 20.4% compared to Monday.
'Raja Shivaji' has garnered a net collection of ₹44 crore so far, with the Marathi version contributing ₹30.5 crore to this total. The pace of the Hindi version has been slightly slower; however, driven by positive word-of-mouth and strong audience reception, it is now gaining momentum as well.
The film's total gross collection in India currently stands at ₹52.68 crore, thereby securing its place among the most successful Marathi films of all time. 'Raja Shivaji' made a tremendous start at the box office, raking in ₹23.90 crore within its first two days. According to trade analysts, the film recorded the biggest opening for a Marathi film, earning ₹12.40 crore on Friday and ₹11.50 crore on Saturday.
Based on current rankings, the film has successfully entered the list of the top 5 highest-grossing Marathi films of all time. Upon crossing the ₹52 crore mark, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve has demanded that the film be made tax-free in Maharashtra so that the maximum number of people can watch it.
Released on May 1st, 'Raja Shivaji' features actors such as Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Bhagyashree, and Genelia Deshmukh in pivotal roles. Additionally, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, and Amol Gupte also appear in the film.
Meanwhile, the box office performance of 'Ek Din'—starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi—continues to witness a steady decline. After earning in the crores during its first three days, the Junaid-Sai starrer has now seen its daily collections drop to the lakhs.
According to a report by Sacnilk, the film earned ₹1.37 crore on its opening day. It collected ₹1.20 crore on the second day and ₹1.07 crore on the third day. On Monday, the film earned ₹23 lakh; subsequently, on the fifth day—Tuesday—it managed to earn a mere ₹28 lakh. Thus, over a span of five days, the film has accumulated a total collection of just ₹3.51 crore.
