New Delhi, May 6: The Central Government has taken a revolutionary step to make the health services of the country completely digital and to make it easier for the general public to access. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda has launched ‘Swasth Bharat Portal’, which is going to become the country’s largest digital platform for health services in the coming time. The portal was launched during the 10th National Summit themed ‘Best Practices Shaping India’s Health Future’.
Will get rid of scattered data and different apps
Till now, different digital applications and portals were used for different health programs in India. This not only caused the problem of duplication of data but also caused huge wastage of resources. This new ‘Swasth Bharat Portal’ developed by the Health Ministry will eliminate all these challenges. Now all the national health programs of the country will be available on a single platform, making monitoring and reporting of health services more accurate and transparent than ever before.
This new technology will prove to be a boon for health workers
This portal is specially built on API-based architecture, which means that different systems will now be able to connect with each other easily. The biggest benefit of this will be to our frontline health workers like ASHA, ANM, CHO and medical officers. They will no longer need to login to different portals or enter the same information repeatedly. This will save their valuable time and enable them to focus better on patient care.
Ayushman Bharat Mission will get new momentum
Swasth Bharat Portal is deeply integrated with ‘Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission’ (ABDM). It has the facility of integration with Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), which will make it possible to share the medical records of patients in a secure manner. The government also plans to link it with ‘Health Professional Registry’ and ‘Health Facility Registry’ in future, due to which the entire system will be tied into a single thread.
There will be huge savings in government treasury and time.
The government estimates that with the launch of this portal the expenditure on infrastructure will reduce by 20 to 30 percent. Apart from this, there will be savings of 20 to 40 percent in repetitive processes to data entry and human resources. Most importantly, with the help of data visualization tools, health decision making and planning at the local level will become much easier and faster. This portal is going to prove to be a game-changer in the direction of bringing transparency in the health system of the country.
