Tezzbuzz Desk- Actor and director Ritesh Deshmukh is in the news these days for his recently released film ‘Raja Shivaji’. He himself has directed this film and in it he played the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film is receiving good response from the audience, while it has received mixed reviews from critics.

Responding to the success of the film, Riteish Deshmukh said that the biggest achievement for him is that the film is not limited to just the box office, but has also connected with the hearts of the audience. He said that seeing families watching films together in the theater gives him immense pleasure.

Ritesh said that many viewers have come to watch the film who had never gone to the theater before. He said that young children, new parents and families together are making ‘Raja Shivaji’ their first cinematic experience, which is a very emotional and special moment for them.

He further said that this engagement of the audience towards the film is an organic promotion in itself. According to him, when the audience themselves likes a film and starts promoting it, it is the biggest success for any filmmaker.

Raja Shivaji depicts the story of the conflict between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Afzal Khan, the commander of the Bijapur Empire. The film depicts the military campaigns and historical events of Shivaji Maharaj on the big screen.

Riteish Deshmukh believes that such films are an important medium for the new generation to understand history. He said that children should definitely watch this film, because many things are found in history books in limited form, which can be understood better through the film.

The film’s performance at the box office also remains strong. In the first five days, ‘Raja Shivaji’ has earned more than Rs 44.40 crore in India.

Big actors like Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Genelia Deshmukh, Boman Irani, Fardeen Khan and Mahesh Manjrekar have been seen in this film. Salman Khan’s cameo has also become a special attraction for the audience.
