In 2018, the Ayushman Bharat scheme was launched by the Center keeping in mind the people of the country. But it was not implemented in Bengal due to the opposition of the then Trinamool government. Instead, health partners were introduced by the state. However, in twenty-sixth, a political change occurred in Bengal. BJP is on the way to form the government with a single majority. As a result, it is believed that the residents of the state will get the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat scheme as promised. Now let’s know the application procedure for this scheme, who will get the benefits and in what cases the benefits will be available.
Application Procedure for Ayushman Bharat Card
1. First go to PMJAY portal. Or download Ayushman App. Log in there with mobile number. After that check whether you are eligible or not with Aadhaar or ration card number.
2. Complete e-KYC if eligible. Submit OTP.
3. Download your Ayushman Bharat card.
Who is eligible to apply?
1. Landless and day laborer families
2. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families
3. Families living in mud and one-room houses
4. 16 to 59 years of age with no earning male member in the family
5. All above 70 regardless of income
Any services will be available
1. Free treatment up to Rs.5 lakh per year to eligible families
2. No cash is required for hospital admissions listed on the card, i.e. cashless treatment
3. Cost of treatment, tests, operations and medicines
4. Cost of medicines and tests from 3 days before admission to next 15 days
