IPL 2026 : The excitement of IPL 2026 is being seen in India these days. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has given a big statement regarding Rajasthan Royals captain Ryan Parag and India’s 24-year-old right-handed batsman. He has talked about the captaincy of Riyan Parag. Remembering former RR captain Sanju Samson, he praised Riyan Parag’s hard work. What has he said? Let us know about this in detail.
Sanjay Manjrekar gave a big statement on Riyan Parag
Sanjay Manjrekar said, he (Ryan Parag) is not one of your typical Indian players. He is fit. The way the field rotates and everything runs brilliantly. That’s good. But I would say the kind of performance I have seen in so many years. After that I find it a bit strange that Rajasthan Royals have supported him so much.
He further said, ‘I mean, Sanju Samson captained them for a few years and then he was removed. Riyan Parag replaced him. I don’t know what happened there, but I don’t think it makes any sense from a cricketing point of view. It’s a bit harsh to say, but he got a lot as a reward even though he didn’t really work hard for those rewards. Therefore, this is a very interesting case to Rajasthan Royals.
Riyan Parag’s IPL career
Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag made his Indian Premier League debut at the age of 17 in IPL 2019. He played his first match for Rajasthan Royals. Since then till now he has been playing continuously for Rajasthan Royals. Parag has played 94 matches in IPL so far. During this period, he has scored 1773 runs in 82 innings with 4 half-centuries. During this period his average was 25.7 and strike rate was 124.1. 127 fours and 99 sixes have also come from his bat. Riyan Parag has also taken 9 wickets in the same number of matches in IPL.
