Another setback for Mumbai Indians as Suryakumar Yadav is likely to miss their crucial tie against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the ongoing IPL 2026. The five-time champions have already lost five games on the trot and are currently struggling at the bottom of the points table.
Mumbai Indians have had a torrid season and are now in a do-or-die situation in all their remaining matches to book their place in the playoffs. The absence of their key players has been one of the biggest reasons behind their downfall. Rohit Sharma has been missing a few games due to injury, while skipper Hardik Pandya is struggling with back spasms and might miss their tie against RCB.
Suryakumar Yadav is Likely to Miss Out vs RCB
The Mumbai Indians camp has suffered another blow as Suryakumar Yadav is likely to be absent from their next match against the RCB. The news was revealed by RevSportz journalist Rohit Juglan.
Although the actual reason for his absence from the squad hasn't been disclosed yet, it is reported that the Indian batter is soon going to be a father. This could possibly be the reason behind his departure from the team.
This is surely a big blow to the Mumbai Indians as they are already struggling for results. With Hardik Pandya likely to be missing out, it will be even tougher for Mumbai Indians to take on RCB in their upcoming tie.

Suryakumar Yadav's IPL 2026 Performance
In IPL 2026, Suryakumar Yadav hasn't had the greatest of seasons with the bat. He has been included in the starting line-up for 10 matches so far, scoring 195 runs with an average of just 19.50, and at a strike rate of 145.52. His best score this season has been 51, managing only one half-century so far.
His most recent scores in the tournament are 12, 21, and 5 respectively against Lucknow Super Giants, Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He also registered scores of 36 against the Chennai Super Kings in one of the earlier games, and 33 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Though the Mumbai Indians batter has not performed with the bat this season, the presence of the experienced middle order player in the team has provided the side with much assurance. Now the injury to Suryakumar Yadav will place further responsibility on the other batters. With no room for any error left and no more chances, the Mumbai Indians will have to play exceptionally well to stay in the tournament with out two of their key players.
