Charles Leclerc has joined Lewis Hamilton in calling for investigations from Ferrari after the Miami Grand Prix. The seven-time champion wants the team to study their rivals' front wings, while his teammate's concerns centre on a loss of performance during Sunday's race.

Ferrari's two drivers finished the race sixth and seventh, behind both McLaren and Mercedes cars, as well as Max Verstappen in his Red Bull. A 20-second post-race penalty then dropped Leclerc two places to eighth behind Franco Colapinto of Alpine, moving Hamilton up one spot to sixth.

Reflecting on the difficulties he faced, the 28-year-old told media, "Medium [tyre], we weren't strong; we were degrading a massive amount. On the hard, it wasn't great at the beginning, then it picked up, and then it was a little bit better, but it was never at the level of the sprint."

Leclerc came third in the sprint race, behind Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. However, he gained a place from qualifying after overtaking Kimi Antonelli, who started second on the grid on Saturday.

But a day later, that same speed was not there, with Leclerc saying: "We need to look at it. We've lost a lot of performance compared to then (the sprint race), and I would like to understand exactly what happened there."

Hamilton, meanwhile, pinpointed the front wing as an area to improve. He said: "Mercedes, McLaren and Red Bull are doing something different with the front wing to us, so we need to look into that to see whether or not there's something we can improve on."

Reiterating the point, Hamilton said: "Just look at everyone else's wing and look at ours, you'll see it looks different. I don't know if that's necessarily the whole thing, but I wonder what that's doing, because others seem to have it and they improved."

On the updates across the grid, overall, he said: And asked about Ferrari's rivals' updates, Hamilton said: "Mercedes did bring improvements, just not the same as others. They had like two, and we had, I don't know, eight or something. Their package is coming next race.

"The team [Ferrari] worked incredibly hard to run those components, and it has taken a step, but the others have also taken a step. I heard McLaren brought a step, but that it was worth much more than they anticipated. That's not how we've experienced ours, so definitely they're doing something different."
