Orange Interior Melon: Known as Pusa Sharabati, this early-maturing melon has a net-like surface with green stripes. Its flesh is orange and has a sweetness level of 11 to 12 percent.


Green and Light Yellow Melon: This variety, called Pusa Madhuras, is round and flat with deep green stripes. When cut, it reveals orange flesh and is quite juicy, with a sweetness level of 12 to 14 percent.


Tips for Buying Sweet Melons

When purchasing a melon, it's advisable to smell the stem. If it emits a faint sweet aroma, the melon is likely to be sweet. The melon should not be too hard or too soft. Generally, the Hara Madhu melon is considered sweeter, characterized by its light green stripes and a light green interior when cut. Its sweetness tends to be higher compared to other varieties.
