Vitamins- B-vitamins are especially found in rice, it includes Vitamin B1 (thiamine), Vitamin B3 (niacin), Vitamin B6. These vitamins are essential for our metabolism and nervous system.
Minerals- Minerals like iron, magnesium, phosphorus are found in it. Brown and red rice contain antioxidants that protect against free radicals.

Dr. Anjali Tiwari (Senior Consultant – Diet and Nutrition, Apollo Spectra Hospital, Kanpur) says that eating rice daily leads to weight gain, this is a common myth, but not completely true. In fact, weight gain or loss is related to total calorie intake, lifestyle and physical activity, and not to any one food item. Rice is an easily digestible carbohydrate source, which gives energy to the body. If it is taken in limited quantity and with a balanced diet, it does not cause weight gain.
When does rice increase weight?
Experts say that the problem occurs when the quantity of rice exceeds the requirement or too much fried and high-calorie food is eaten with it. Brown rice or hand-pounded rice can be a better option than white rice, as they contain more fiber and keep the stomach full for a longer time.

Doctor Anjali says that those who eat rice daily should pay attention to portion control, 1 bowl of rice at a time is sufficient. Along with this, definitely include pulses, green vegetables and protein.
Eating large amounts of rice at night should be avoided, especially if physical activity is low.
Therefore, instead of giving up rice completely, consuming it in the right quantity, at the right time and with a balanced diet is a better and healthy option.
