The specialty of Chicken Vada Pav is crispy on the outside and juicy and spicy chicken filling on the inside. This dish is fast gaining popularity in cities like Mumbai as it is quick to prepare, filling and tastes amazing. You too can prepare this delicious dish using easily available ingredients at home. Materials:

For the Chicken Filling:

  • 250 grams of boiled and shredded chicken
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chillies (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp red chillies
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • A little coriander

For the batter:

  • 1 cup gram flour
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • salt
  • Water (to make batter)

Others:

  • Pav (for Vada Pav)
  • green chutney
  • Garlic Chutney
  • Oil for frying

Action:

  • First, heat oil in a pan, add onion and fry till golden.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste, green chillies and saute. Then add turmeric, chili powder, garam masala and salt and mix well.
  • Now add the mashed chicken and mix well. Finally add coriander and turn off the heat.
  • Make small balls of the prepared mixture and flatten it slightly.
  • Add turmeric, chili powder, salt to besan and make a smooth paste with the help of water.
  • Heat oil in a pan and dip each vada in besan batter and fry on medium flame until golden.
  • Cut the bread and spread mint green and garlic chutney on it, place hot vada in the middle and serve to eat.
