Pakistan ISI behind two blasts in Punjab: DGP

The first blast took place outside the BSF headquarters in Jalandhar at around 8 pm, the second blast took place in Amritsar at around 11 pm.

Chandigarh. Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on Wednesday that the explosion that took place near the boundary wall of the army cantonment in Khasa, Amritsar was of low intensity. Police said the explosion occurred on Tuesday night. There is no news of anyone getting injured in this.

The Director General of Police (DGP) said that no group has claimed responsibility for the blast, but it appears that Pakistan’s ISI is behind the incident. He said, we believe that as Operation Sindoor completes one year today, it is part of a conspiracy by Pakistan’s ISI to create unrest in Punjab. Punjab is waging a proxy war against Pakistan on behalf of the nation.

Two serial blasts near security establishments rocked Punjab on Tuesday night, causing panic and with opposition parties condemning it as an attempt to “destabilize” the state. The first blast took place outside the Punjab Frontier Headquarters of the Border Security Force in Jalandhar at around 8 pm, while the second blast took place in Amritsar at around 11 pm. Investigation into both incidents is ongoing.

After holding a meeting with Army officials and senior Punjab Police officials, DGP Yadav gave the information. He said that common security concerns were reviewed and instructions were issued. He said that a meeting was also held with senior police officers of Amritsar Police Commissioner’s office. According to the DGP, the exact nature of the blast and the equipment used in it will be known only after forensic investigation.

Senior officials of Punjab Police including Amritsar SSP (Rural) reached the blast site. Bomb disposal squads of Punjab Police and BSF, along with forensic experts, secured the area and collected samples for scientific analysis. DGP said that FIR has been registered under relevant sections and investigation is being done in collaboration with the army and other agencies.

Amritsar (Rural) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Suhail Mir Qasim said, we received information around 11 pm that a loud noise was heard on a road in Khasa, after which our team immediately reached there. He said initial investigation and analysis revealed that someone came here and threw something towards the boundary wall which caused the explosion. Police said that as a result of the explosion, a piece of tin sheeting on the boundary wall fell off.
