Mumbai, May 6:
Mumbai Indians opener Ryan Rickelton has said he remains uncertain about the extent of skipper Hardik Pandya’s injury, admitting he has little clarity on the all-rounder’s recovery timeline after he was ruled out with a back spasm.
Rickelton revealed that he only learnt about the issue shortly before the game and could not offer any further details on the severity of the problem. However, he expressed confidence that Pandya would continue to stay involved with the squad as they move forward in the tournament.
“I do not know when he is expected to be back. I found out this afternoon that he has back spasms, so I am unaware of the extent of the injury or how bad it is or what he is feeling. But I am sure he will be with the group as we head to Raipur this week,” Rickelton said. The South African also spoke at length about his growing understanding with senior batter Rohit Sharma, highlighting how their contrasting styles have helped them complement each other at the top of the order.
