UK petrol and diesel drivers urged to hit road before 10am on Thursday - a correction

In an article titled "UK petrol and diesel drivers urged to fill up before 10am on Thursday" published on March 30, 2026, we erroneously suggested that drivers were urged by the Royal Automobile Club to fuel their vehicles before 10am on Thursday before the Easter break. In fact, the RAC advised drivers to depart on their weekend journeys early that day due to expected congestion on the roads, and the advice to therefore fuel up early was misattributed to the club. The amended article can be seen here.
